Job Title: Certified Addiction Counselor

La Clínica del Pueblo Inc is seeking a Certified Addiction Counselor to join our team in Washington, DC.

Job Summary

The Certified Addiction Counselor will provide substance use counseling in our outpatient treatment programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in substance use treatment and be able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group substance use counseling for clients in our outpatient programs.
  • Conduct substance use assessments and develop treatment plans for clients.
  • Work with clients to set and achieve treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Document client information and treatment progress in our electronic health record system.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Certified Addiction Counselor (CACI or CACII) in the District of Columbia.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience providing substance use counseling or other related human service field activities.
  • Experience working with immigrants and displaced populations.
  • Knowledge of ex-offender population and substance use issues.
