Job Overview

We are in search of a personable and welcoming individual to take on the role of Front Desk Agent at La Quinta Inn & Suites - PDX. This position offers both AM (7a-3p) and PM (3p-11p) shifts, along with comprehensive on-the-job training.

Position Summary

The Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our guests. Responsibilities include welcoming and registering guests, delivering outstanding customer service throughout their stay, and processing the guest's account upon departure. Key duties involve managing guest registrations, handling reservations, and performing concierge functions. The goal is to ensure a pleasant experience for all guests while optimizing room occupancy and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, adhering to uniform and name tag requirements.
  • Ensure regular attendance as per scheduling needs.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Greet and assist all guests at the Front Desk in a warm and welcoming manner.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard effectively, meeting performance standards.
  • Handle inquiries regarding information, mail, and messages courteously and efficiently.
  • Respond to guest questions about hotel services, facilities, and hours of operation.
  • Provide information about local attractions, restaurants, and entertainment options.
  • Foster good communication and teamwork with fellow associates and other hotel departments.
  • Stay informed about rates, packages, and special promotions, as well as in-house groups and restricted dates.
  • Gather necessary information for room reservations and follow established rate quoting procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies and hospitality terminology.
  • Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures as required.
  • Facilitate check-ins and check-outs in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Comprehend and operate all relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system.
  • Ensure the logging and delivery of packages, mail, and messages to guests and meeting rooms.
  • Utilize proper communication etiquette when interacting with other associates.
  • Deliver guest items such as luggage, newspapers, and amenities as requested.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of property amenities and local events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including assisting coworkers and maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel.
