Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Program Management Specialist (Level 2) / Principal Program Management Specialist (Level 3) to join our diverse and qualified team. This position offers a full-time remote opportunity.

This role encompasses technology scouting for the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector (NGAS). Within the Research and Advanced Design division, the Tech Scouting organization aligns early-stage startup companies with our customers' needs, aiming to deploy innovative technologies that enhance existing NGAS products/services and facilitate new developments. This position requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strategic planning, research proficiency, project management expertise, and the ability to swiftly comprehend a broad spectrum of technologies to assess their legitimacy and value. Candidates should also possess an understanding of startup and small business practices, including fundraising. A balance of critical analysis and creative innovation is essential. An ideal candidate will have experience in technology development within both large organizations and small startups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize technology requirements from across the NGAS sector, collaborating with chief engineers, chief architects, R&AD directors, and subject matter experts.
  • Investigate and identify startups and small companies developing technologies that could benefit NG and its clientele.
  • Spot opportunities to integrate innovative, distinctive technologies into programs and initiatives.
  • Craft and present narratives for engagement with identified startups.
  • Manage the logistical aspects of collaboration with startups (NDAs, drafting statements of work, etc.).
  • Establish and nurture relationships between startup companies and NG stakeholders (technology adopters) for collaborative technology development, maturation, or adoption.
  • Devise concepts for Minimum Viable Engagements (MVE) between startups and NG.
  • Execute MVEs (project management).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Project Management (Level 2): Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 1 year of related experience.
  • Principal Project Management (Level 3): Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 4 years of related experience.
  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management functions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) alongside a STEM degree.
  • Experience in startup funding or venture capital.
  • Background in maturing technologies from concept to deployed product.
  • Familiarity with the DoD innovation landscape and current defense priorities.
  • Experience in project or program management.

Salary Range: $65,500 - $98,300

Salary Range 2: $80,600 - $121,000

The salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
