Job Description

The Product Owner for our Consumer Identity Access Management (CIAM) team plays a crucial role in driving value to the business by prioritizing and refining user stories for the team.

This individual will represent the voice of the customer to the team, articulating what needs to be delivered while allowing the team to determine how to achieve it.

In collaboration with the team's Tech Leads, Architects, and management, the Product Owner will work to ready product backlog items from various sources and ensure that the top priority work items are ready for the CIAM Kanban team to deliver.

Responsibilities
  1. Partner with CIAM leadership to prioritize and ready requests from multiple sources into a deliverable backlog for the team.
  2. Communicate priorities and execution status effectively to key stakeholders.
  3. Incorporate stakeholder input into the backlog while negotiating tradeoffs of conflicting priorities based on value to the business and customer.
  4. Collaborate with the CIAM Product Manager, stakeholders, CIAM team, and dependent teams to align on priorities, set commitments, and prioritize the backlog.
  5. Work closely with the CIAM team to provide CIAM subject matter expertise and clarify work item requirements.
  6. Drive quality and innovation into the team's work product.
  7. Define key metrics for relevant reporting on status.
  8. Own messaging of status and health of the CIAM team's delivery, ensuring that the work meets the customers' needs.
  9. Facilitate activities and sessions such as Backlog Refinement.
  10. Follow established guidelines and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of technical experience.
  • 3+ years of Product Owner and/or equivalent technical experience with managing consumer-based identity and access control platforms, specifically ForgeRock.
  • 3+ years working in an operational team with production support responsibilities.
  • Experience translating business needs to technical requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, influence, negotiate, and collaborate with various stakeholders with often conflicting priorities and requirements.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and use independent judgment to analyze variable factors and determine the best course of action.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in technical design and practical implementation of IT solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Product Owner certification.
  • Experience working with a Kanban team.
  • Working knowledge of cyber security concepts, cloud, and tools including Identity Access Management (IAM).
  • Experience with ForgeRock or similar CIAM tools.
  • Significant experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or other work management tools.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and facilitating discussions to explore the best possible solutions and possess the ability to lead.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
