Position Overview:

Merchants Bank is looking for a dedicated Financial Services Representative. This role involves working 40 hours per week across various branches, ensuring a flexible approach to customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Financial Services Representative, your primary focus will be on delivering outstanding customer service while promoting a variety of banking products and services tailored to meet our clients' financial objectives.

You will act as the main point of contact for clients, assisting with a range of banking activities, including:
- Handling financial transactions and account inquiries
- Establishing new deposit account relationships
- Engaging in consumer lending
- Providing informed product recommendations in a friendly and efficient manner.

Essential Skills:
Successful candidates will possess:
- Excellent communication abilities
- Comfort with extensive customer interaction
- Proven sales experience
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
Prior banking experience is advantageous.

Customer Engagement:
Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external clients, ensuring each interaction is positive and productive. You will:
- Greet customers warmly and assess their needs
- Offer personalized solutions and maintain high-quality consultative conversations
- Resolve issues promptly and escalate when necessary.

Relationship Management:
Build and nurture strong relationships with customers to understand their financial goals and identify opportunities to serve them better. Your role will include:
- Fostering long-term loyalty through exceptional service
- Collaborating with colleagues to enhance overall customer experience.

Sales and Business Development:
Meet or exceed sales targets for banking products, including:
- Deposit accounts
- Loans
- Credit cards.
Engage in proactive outreach to identify and follow up on sales opportunities.

Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure adherence to all compliance training and regulations, including:
- Accurate processing of transactions
- Safeguarding customer information and bank assets.

Team Collaboration:
Work closely with your team to ensure smooth branch operations. This includes:
- Responding to supervisory guidance
- Participating in community events to promote the bank.

Work Environment:
This position is based in a climate-controlled environment with a focus on maintaining a professional and organized workspace. Candidates should be prepared for a role that requires both sitting and standing, as well as occasional lifting.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in banking is preferred, particularly for advanced roles. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, time management abilities, and a genuine interest in customer engagement.
