Job Title: Senior Registered Nurse

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Senior Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Labor and Delivery department.

Job Summary:

The Senior Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, and evaluating patient outcomes. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and provide education to patients and families. Additionally, you will participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, taking into account patient needs and preferences
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and provide education to patients and families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in nursing practice, including evidence-based care and best practices
Requirements:
  • Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license
  • Current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire or placement in the role
  • Current NRP certification upon hire or placement in the role
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting
  • Experience in Labor and Delivery or Perinatal Nursing
  • Current certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
