Job Summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Senior Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to healthcare personnel, ensuring that each team member is empowered to provide high-quality care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Current, valid RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Compact RN license.
  • 2+ years of PCU experience.
  • Current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire or placement in the role.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership and delegation skills, with the ability to empower team members to provide high-quality care.
