KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Support the safety initiatives of Spectrum Plastics Group, aiming for zero incidents.
  2. Ensure that operational processes and quality standards align with customer expectations and corporate objectives.
  3. Actively foster and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Identify and understand customer quality specifications, developing inspection methodologies and plans to ensure compliance.
  2. Oversee both internal and external quality challenges for the designated market team to meet collective objectives.
  3. Provide assistance to engineering, inspection, manufacturing, and sales teams to achieve Spectrum Plastics Group and team targets.
  4. Comprehend relevant quality principles, including statistics, sampling management, blueprint interpretation, metrology, quality planning techniques, and corrective action processes.
  5. Familiarize with applicable Standard Operating Procedures of Spectrum Plastics Group.
  6. Support project acquisition by identifying customer quality needs and their associated costs, impacting the quotation process.
  7. Assist in the project development phase by defining first article submission criteria, including dimensional analysis, capability studies, customer documentation, and necessary certifications.
  8. Understand and clarify the quality requirements of Spectrum Plastics Group's clientele as needed.
  9. When applicable, analyze inspection data to ensure manufacturing and inspection processes are operating effectively, initiating corrective or preventive actions as required.
  10. Process incoming, in-process, finished, and customer-returned non-conforming materials according to established procedures, holding daily meetings for rejected products.
  11. Support the resolution of quality issues by serving as a resource for problem-solving methodologies.
  12. Document and respond to internal and external quality issues with appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
  13. Assist the purchasing department by identifying quality requirements for purchased components/services and aiding in the resolution of quality concerns.
  14. Serve as a backup for other Quality Engineers as needed.
  15. Read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, quality manuals, industry publications, and regulatory guidelines as appropriate.
  16. Effectively communicate business and technical information through written reports, correspondence, procedures, and inspection plans.
  17. Interpret technical data in various forms and manage abstract and concrete concepts.
  18. Identify problems, conduct root cause analysis, select and implement solutions, and evaluate their effectiveness.
  19. Apply and understand process and gauging qualification methods, statistical sampling theory, and statistical process control techniques.
  20. Program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to facilitate the inspection process.
  21. Lead and/or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S methodologies.

DEFENSE INDUSTRY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customer-specific requirements for Spectrum Plastics Group's defense clients and AS9100 standards.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING:

A Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from an accredited institution; or five years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of post-secondary education and related experience. Training and/or experience in Plastics Molding Technology is preferred. Proficiency in using mainframe terminals and personal computers relevant to job tasks is required.
