About Planet Forward:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee civil design for site development, water resource management, and multi-disciplinary initiatives. Collaborate with the Project Manager to initiate and carry projects from proposal through to completion, ensuring project success by adhering to established work plans, timelines, and budgets. Supervise the design team to guarantee quality and efficiency in deliverables.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strategically plan, layout, and enhance construction or redevelopment sites. Develop engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Manage stormwater systems, green infrastructure, and conveyance processes. Engage with regulatory bodies to secure necessary project approvals. Work alongside design and field teams to facilitate seamless construction processes. Direct the public bidding process and maintain contractor relationships. Ensure that all designs comply with regulatory standards and best practices while providing innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of each community.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with architects, engineers, planners, and technicians. Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to the overall growth of the organization. Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Career Advancement: Acquire diverse project experience and advance your career within the organization. Multiple pathways for advancement are available, including technical expertise, project management, team leadership, and client relations/business development.

Requirements for Success:

  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated design experience in areas such as site grading (including ADA compliance), water mains, sanitary sewers, parking lots, site balancing, roads, pathways, and stormwater systems.
  • Experience in preparing construction documents, including plan drawings, specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates.
  • Ability to effectively engage with and comply with the requirements set forth by governmental agencies on behalf of clients.
  • Familiarity with state agencies and/or Department of Transportation (DOT) specifications is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, staff, regulators, elected officials, contractors, and consultants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Site Design, Civil Engineering, or Land Development.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering License.
