Role Overview of a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager

In the capacity of a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and formulating work plans and proposals for engineering services pertaining to site and civil consultation and design, which involves defining the scope of field investigations and design efforts, along with preparing cost estimates and project timelines.
  • Drafting, presenting, and discussing design and bidding documents with clients.
  • Overseeing project schedules and financial plans for a variety of projects.
  • Preparing and evaluating engineering analyses, reports, calculations, contract documents, designs, and specifications for site and civil projects.
  • Planning, organizing, supervising, and executing field evaluations and inspections as required.
  • Evaluating the feasibility and integrity of proposed site and civil features.
  • Developing design specifics and specifying suitable construction materials.
  • Coordinating construction quality control services, conducting regular site visits, and reviewing daily field reports prepared by others.
  • Facilitating pre-proposal, pre-construction, and construction progress meetings, and documenting the minutes of these meetings.
  • Creating and delivering project-specific or technical presentations to clients, technical organizations, and internal teams.
  • Assisting Project Managers in overseeing projects that require financial, technical, and administrative leadership, while fostering opportunities with both new and existing clients.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers and Project Directors to address client concerns and communicate modifications to scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution; a Master's Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Professional Registration is essential.
  • A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in site development, including site layout, grading, utility design, pavement design, permitting, budgeting, and interaction with jurisdictional agencies.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; experience with Infrastructure Suite or MicroStation is advantageous.
  • Preferred familiarity with Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling software, including proficient use of HEC-HMS, SWMM, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, or similar tools.
  • Willingness and capability to work on construction sites performing review activities.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend design drawings.
  • Competence in organizing technical materials into comprehensive drawings, specifications, and reports, and conducting QA/QC reviews on work products.
  • Experience in project planning, budgeting, task delegation, and management to ensure projects are executed according to work plans.
  • Project administration skills, including invoicing and collections.
  • Conducting periodic site/client visits, project, and business development meetings.
  • Assisting in the formulation of business strategies and action plans to create growth opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Business Development staff to attract new clients and business opportunities to the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to seek and establish new clients while building strong business relationships with both new and existing clients.
