Position Overview:

As a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in integrating your technical expertise with strategic thinking to influence national defense initiatives and the design of combat weapon systems. Your understanding of the operational environment will enable you to develop systems tailored to mission requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Utilize advanced analytical tools such as Excel, Matlab, and the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, or Modeling (AFSIM) to assess and enhance combat weapon systems.
  • Transform real-world operational needs into precise technical specifications, ensuring the delivery of customer-centric engineering solutions.
  • Engage in critical thinking and data analytics to support the constructive modeling and simulation of combat operations.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • Experience in scenario development and analytical evaluations of combat weapon systems using mission-level constructive simulation tools, including AFSIM and others.
  • Proficiency in various commercial and government-offered modeling and simulation tools, as well as data science programming languages such as Matlab, C++, Perl, or Python.
  • A solid understanding of U.S. and international combat weapon systems, particularly in the areas of aviation and ground-based air defense.
  • The ability to apply principles of Operational Analysis to execute study plans and analytical matrices effectively.
  • A Top Secret security clearance.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.

Preferred Skills:

Additionally, it would be advantageous to have:

  • Experience in developing AFSIM scripts to tailor model behaviors within analytical scenarios.
  • The capability to analyze extensive raw model outputs to identify significant drivers.
  • The ability to succinctly summarize and communicate complex technical insights.
  • TS/SCI clearance.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Top Secret clearance is mandatory.
