Job Summary:

The Director, Mission Advancement is responsible for building and sustaining a strong volunteer infrastructure within the state, developing and implementing state events, securing foundation and corporate funding, and managing local staff and advisory boards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive statewide strategy for securing sustainable funding
  • Manage local advisory boards, including recruitment, training, and retention of committee and board members
  • Identify, cultivate, and develop volunteers capable of making personal commitments and becoming directly involved in the solicitation process
  • Develop and implement major fundraising events to meet revenue goals
  • Research and cultivate relationships with local funders, and work with the Grants Manager to determine appropriate grant targets
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or at least 4 years' relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of fundraising experience, including special events planning and donor cultivation
  • 3-5 years' experience and knowledge of working with volunteers and boards
  • 3-5 years' experience in staff management
  • Superior persuasive writing and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate the mission, goals, and activities of Best Buddies
