Job Summary

The University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Supervising Advanced Practice Nurse to join our Critical Care Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing patient care, overseeing the performance of Advanced Practice Providers, and maintaining high standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient care and oversee the performance of Advanced Practice Providers in Trauma, Critical Care, and Vascular Access.
  • Utilize advanced practice nursing expertise to provide high-quality care to patients in these areas.
  • Manage staff orientation, consultation, and evaluation for patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Work collaboratively with Physicians, Nursing Directors, and Managers to identify patient care and staff development needs.
  • Conduct quality practices and data collection in collaboration with all healthcare disciplines.
  • Direct and supervise professional and paraprofessional staff members within the prescribed areas as assigned.
  • Participate in staff development programs, patient/family education programs, performance improvement, and education programs for patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience in Emergency Department, Critical Care, Medical/Surgical, or Perioperative services required.
  • One year of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Emergency, Critical Care, Adult, or Family preferred.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership competencies to be carried out in the day-to-day activities of the department.
  • One (1) year of supervisory/managerial experience preferred.
  • BLS (CPR) and ACLS required.
  • Computer literacy required.
