Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this role reflects a nationwide market range and varies based on several factors, including the complexity and location of the position, as well as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. Additionally, employees may qualify for performance-based cash incentive awards as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

Salary Range
$88,000 - $145,900.00

What Is the Opportunity?

In this role, you will manage and cultivate a moderately complex portfolio of agency assignments under general supervision. Key responsibilities include: maximizing growth potential within a core group of independent agents while seeking and appointing new agencies, achieving year-over-year growth and profit targets, leveraging Travelers sales tools within a consultative sales approach, gathering competitive intelligence, and collaborating with regional team members and business centers on product, pricing, and agency management decisions. This position is fully remote and may involve a mix of mobile work and work from your primary residence. You must reside within the designated territory and be able to travel to agents by car. Key Responsibilities

Agent Support:
  • Manage substantial and/or complex agency assignments, applying diagnostics and segmentation for owned agents.
  • Lead presentations and appointments for owned agents while identifying opportunities for new business.
  • Facilitate workshops and share insights with other Sales Representatives.
Sales Influence:
  • Drive profitable development of all agencies within your assigned territory.
  • Implement sales strategies to increase Travelers' market share by appointing and coaching new agents.
  • Articulate a mutually beneficial sales process and identify solutions to agency needs.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with agents and team members.
Agency Analysis:
  • Develop strategic marketing plans to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Utilize best practices in Agency Operations and ensure accountability for agreed actions.
  • Understand operational differences between small and large agencies and motivate agents to succeed.
  • Initiate marketing processes within agencies to attract and retain new business.
  • Address customer service issues and ensure resolution.
  • Provide training and support for agency staff on Travelers' systems and platforms.
  • Identify book transfer opportunities and negotiate commitments.
  • Develop strategic agency plans with disciplined accountability.
  • Stay informed on product and pricing changes to meet company objectives.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Five years of sales or insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Agency Diagnostics and ability to assess agency operations.
  • Advanced skills in influencing sales and advising agents.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated resilience and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
