Job Overview:

The Compliance Business Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of financial operations within the agricultural sector. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at safeguarding the interests of producers and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment of Grain Measurements: Conduct evaluations at grain warehouses to confirm that collateral is adequately covered, thereby protecting producers from potential fraud.
  • Financial Account Reviews: Execute thorough financial assessments of custodial accounts at livestock markets to guarantee that sufficient funds are available for operational sales and timely payments.
  • Inspection of Cotton Warehouses: Perform checks on state-bonded cotton warehouses to ensure the protection of cotton for both producers and merchants.
Audit and Analysis:
  • Under supervision, carry out audits and evaluations of corporate practices related to Warehouse and Bonding to identify and address any instances of fraud or regulatory non-compliance.
  • Analyze insurance documentation to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and underwriting standards.
  • Investigate consumer complaints and grievances against businesses and agents, focusing on issues of fraud or misconduct.
  • Conduct research on state codes, federal regulations, and industry guidelines to ensure compliance with established practices.
  • Review applications, rates, and transactions for accuracy and fairness, ensuring they meet compliance standards.
Required Skills and Knowledge:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential, with a strong emphasis on Excel capabilities. Basic mathematical skills are also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience within the grain or cotton industries is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

This role may involve intermittent walking, squatting, kneeling, or driving, and candidates should be prepared for exposure to outdoor elements.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture conducts thorough background checks on all final candidates. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory verification of previous employment, background checks, and motor vehicle records.
