Job Description

Boland Trane Associates Inc & Boland Trane Services Inc is seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team. As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for working with engineers and contractors to design, apply, and sell HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize account management processes to identify key clients and develop specific action plans to grow identified accounts.
  • Identify potential opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Convert leads into opportunities by assigning the appropriate sales process, identifying the required project team members, making assignments, and communicating the next steps in the process.
  • Develop relationships with multiple buying influences in the client's organization, including project managers, project engineers, construction, purchasing, and accounts payable.
  • Gather and validate preliminary information and perform facility walk-through, construction plan review, or other requirements.
  • Determine project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all of the client's HVAC system design and installation requirements.
  • Provide knowledge and consultation in the form of developing HVAC system-related solutions for the client's problems, including financial and performance-based considerations.
  • Coordinate with Estimators in the interpretation of specifications and preparation of proposals.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum four years of proven experience in HVAC sales.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Determined, motivated, self-starter, persistent, and confident.
  • Problem solver with attention to detail, able to work independently, team player.
  • Mobility within the office and job sites.
  • Willing to travel locally as required.
  • Frequent visits to job sites and able to climb ladders.
