Job Overview:

The Safety Management Coordinator plays a crucial role in the execution, administration, and oversight of all safety protocols and initiatives at IES Communications. This position is essential for ensuring adherence to both internal safety policies and external regulatory standards at the assigned project sites. The coordinator will spearhead efforts to foster a safe working environment, aiming to prevent workplace incidents, injuries, and health issues. Preferred qualifications include EMT certification or higher.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Actively promote and uphold all IES and project-specific safety regulations and compliance with federal and state safety standards.
2. Ensure the effective application of IES Safety Policies and Procedures across the Communications Division and specific project sites.
3. Design and deliver safety training sessions and presentations as required.
4. Conduct thorough jobsite safety audits and inspections to verify compliance with established safety protocols and standards.
5. Manage and document activities related to confined space entry, including necessary training and documentation.
6. Identify potential hazards and collaborate with operations and management to develop corrective action plans.
7. Formulate strategies to mitigate risks and enhance safety measures.
8. Provide safety orientation for new employees, along with OSHA 10/30 hour training and other required safety education.
9. Coordinate safety training for both management and field staff, focusing on accident prevention and compliance with safety regulations.
10. Prepare detailed reports and summaries on safety audits, incidents, and investigations.
11. Lead root cause analyses for recordable incidents and near misses, working with operations to implement preventive measures.
12. Engage in OSHA inspection processes as outlined in the IES Safety Manual and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders.
13. Maintain comprehensive safety records and documentation.
14. Mentor and guide all personnel to foster a strong safety culture within IES.
15. Collaborate with site management on safety-related activities.
16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation:
Minimum: USD $28.00/Hr.
Maximum: USD $38.00/Hr.

Qualifications:


• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to lead process improvements.
• Strong commitment to promoting the company culture and mission.
• Effective liaison skills for interaction with customers, vendors, and contractors.
• Proven problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• Physical capability to perform inspections, including lifting and climbing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and recognize safety codes and symbols.
• Proficient in learning company and customer computer systems.
• Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Education and Experience:


• High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
• EMT certification or higher is preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in construction safety, particularly in telecommunications or electrical sectors.
• Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.
• Knowledge of Confined Space Entry Standards Subpart AA is a plus.
• Current status as an Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer is preferred.
• CHST Certification or equivalent is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
