Amazon Security's Threat Detection team is responsible for safeguarding Amazon's infrastructure against potential threats. We provide comprehensive security coverage across various vectors, including endpoint, cloud, network, and application, ensuring the protection of both Amazon and its subsidiaries.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Program Manager (TPM) to oversee the program management of our advanced threat detection platform.

The mission of our Threat Detection team relies on the successful creation of rapid, customer-facing product solutions that efficiently manage vast amounts of data (multiple PBs daily), enabling security engineers to swiftly build and maintain threat detection capabilities using cutting-edge technologies.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in technical program management and excel at collaborating across various disciplines, including software, security, and finance.

We seek a proactive leader with deep expertise in cloud computing and AWS, dedicated to delivering exceptional threat detection solutions at minimal costs. A strong focus on data accuracy and leveraging data for informed decision-making is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

Product Roadmap Development:
  • Work with PMs and managers to create a realistic and structured product roadmap.
  • Ensure alignment of the planning process with both short-term and long-term objectives.

Program Management & Leadership Reporting:
  • Exhibit effective writing skills for clear communication.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and report status to leadership.
  • Manage the product section of multiple Business Reviews (xBRs).

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Keep customers and stakeholders informed through regular program updates.
  • Maintain consistent communication with customers and stakeholders to address their needs and feedback.

Engineering Community Influence:
  • Engage and influence the engineering community to prioritize and complete the right work efficiently.

Process Improvement:
  • Conduct regular retrospectives to assess and enhance existing processes.
  • Implement continuous improvements based on feedback and retrospective insights.

Resource and Strategic Planning Support:
  • Assist in the annual resource allocation and strategic planning process (OP1/OP2).
  • Drive the standardized product development lifecycle to meet customer threat detection requirements.

Scenario Analysis:
  • Utilize what-if analysis to assess how changes in project scope, sequence, or duration impact project outcomes.
  • Adjust dependencies and resource allocation to optimize project duration, cost, and productivity.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
5+ years of experience in technical product or program management
3+ years of software development experience
Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of experience in project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management
Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, establishing sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPIs/SLAs to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is determined by various factors, including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company.

Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be included as part of a total compensation package, along with a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
