Job Description

Sparks Group is seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Safety Administrator to support their departmental safety and health programs. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience with workplace safety, OSHA compliance, worker's compensation, and state and federal workplace safety regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on regulations for compliance requirements relative to department job functions, including conducting hazard and risk assessments of job functions and tasks.
  • Inspect work areas and associated equipment, including surprise inspections, to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Review written materials, including departmental safety programs and objectives, rules and regulations, educational materials, records of employee training, and previous reports of injuries to employees and citizens to identify actual or potential safety problems.
  • Prepare reports, assist departments in report preparation, provide advice and assistance regarding the practices and procedures of regulatory agencies, and coordinate and monitor the return to work of employees following a work-related illness or injury.
  • Inspect job sites, work zones, and facilities, audit records, and prepare written reports with recommended corrective action and follow-up for implementation and closure in accordance with federal and state law, regulations, and policies, including industry standards and best practices.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct safety and health activities, such as new employee orientation, job site, and automated external defibrillator training.

Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree and three years of experience in Industrial Health & Safety or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Thorough and robust understanding of State and Federal law related to Industrial Health & Safety.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders within the department and other departments.
