Description: The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing comprehensive equipment care, including preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation tasks, adhering to established protocols with minimal supervision.

This role also involves training and mentoring other team members, along with additional leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute routine equipment and facility maintenance tasks, including preventive and corrective actions.
  • Diagnose equipment issues using appropriate testing tools.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and modify equipment as needed.
  • Adhere to established safety and GMP protocols.
  • Respond to operator inquiries and take necessary actions.
  • Install new equipment and implement major modifications as per instructions.
  • Support the Maintenance Planner in developing job plans, including materials and timelines.
  • Assist in managing the work order system, ensuring prioritization and documentation.
  • Recommend improvements for equipment and processes.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for new technicians.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers regarding parts and supplies.
  • Lead and direct the work of other maintenance personnel as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge equivalent to two years of technical school in at least one trade, plus journeyman-level skills in at least two other trades.
  • Understanding of machinery fundamentals, including pumps, motors, and compressors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and CMMS.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow and provide clear verbal and written instructions.
  • Capability to interpret complex mechanical and electrical diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to work on-call, off shifts, and overtime as required.
