Job Summary

The Arc Eastern Connecticut is seeking a dedicated and compassionate In-Home Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care and Daily Activities: Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, personal care, and household management.
  • Community Involvement: Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings and activities, promoting socialization and independence.
  • Transportation and Support: Provide transportation to recreational and community activities, and support individuals in achieving their goals and objectives.
  • Therapeutic and Behavioral Support: Work with individuals to develop and implement therapeutic and behavioral plans, promoting positive behaviors and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, and prior experience working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Ability to mentor and assist individuals in all areas of life skills, including recreation, independence, communication, and health. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
