Co-Director, Muscular Dystrophy Translation Research Expert

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a highly qualified Co-Director for the Muscular Dystrophy Translational Research Program. The successful candidate will be a senior-level researcher with a strong track record in muscular dystrophy research and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead research projects focused on translational development of therapies for muscular dystrophies
- Participate in the Muscular Dystrophy Association multidisciplinary clinic
- Train and mentor clinical preclinical students, residents, and fellows
- Serve as a member of departmental and university-wide service committees
- MD or equivalent and minimum of 4 years extensive experience in muscular dystrophy research
- BC/BE in Neurology
- A deep understanding of outcome measure development in the muscular dystrophies
- Experience conducting a multicenter clinical trial
- Extensive publication record
- Proven trainee and faculty mentorship skills
- Track record working in multi-disciplinary fields
- Experience working in a matric environment within academic medicine
- Proven success in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
