Police Department Records Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Police Department Records Specialist at the City of Corvallis, OR. This is a full-time, regular employee position that requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Provide public reception at the Police Department and Sheriff's Office front desk, handling telephone and walk-in business, and processing, maintaining, and data entering all police reporting documents.
- Support the Corvallis Police Department and Benton County Sheriff's Office in records management, investigation procedures, violation documentation, and dissemination of non-emergency information.
- Operate manual and computer record systems, performing data entry and file retrieval for various reports, including arrest warrants, crime reports, and statistical reports.
- Process fingerprint cards, warrants, and subpoenas, and maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and judgment in dealing with sensitive or confidential information.
- Deliver excellent customer service to diverse audiences, maintain effective work relationships, and adhere to all City and Department policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of related employment experience.
- Ability to perform duties related to the public safety records unit, including knowledge of applicable Oregon and municipal laws.
- Working knowledge of public records law, business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and basic math skills.
- Ability to relate well to a wide variety of individuals and groups, and to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Understanding of operational rules and general instructions, and ability to respond to work situations with minimal supervision.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks and priorities, and maintain confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive information. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent customer service to diverse audiences.
