Medical Support Specialist

As a Medical Support Specialist at Samaritan Health Services, you will play a vital role in assisting practitioners in the performance of procedures, handling telephone prescription orders and refills, maintaining patient records, and relaying test results.
Department OverviewThe Primary Care teams at Samaritan Health Services offer comprehensive healthcare services for families from newborns to seniors. Our pediatric, family medicine, and internal medicine providers work together to provide complete health care.
Responsibilities- Assist practitioners in procedures and maintain patient records
- Handle telephone prescription orders and refills
- Relay test results to patients and practitioners
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant required
- Healthcare Provider BLS required
- Previous medical back office experience or medical assistant training preferred
- Patient Care: ability to assist and care for others, recognize symptoms, drug properties, and interactions
- Adaptability/Flexibility: ability to respond quickly to situations with high-risk or diverse patient populations
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Team Building: ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team and develop constructive relationships
The Medical Support Specialist will occasionally perform tasks that require physical exertion, such as walking, standing, and lifting.
