Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Central Supply Operations. This position will be responsible for overseeing the management of human and material resources in the inventory, control, and distribution of patient supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory levels and provide efficient distribution of items in Central Supply to all hospital units.
  • Clinical Relationships: Develop and maintain clinical relationships with key clinical leaders in regards to supply-related initiatives and inventory management.
  • Collaboration: Maintain an environment of collaboration between clinical and business areas.
  • Operations Management: Ensure effective operations of the department through system development, process improvement, and coordination with customer departments.
  • Service Standards: Create and exceed standards of key service dimensions.
  • Financial Management: Achieve and maintain financial targets in support of the business goals of the institution.
  • Budget Management: Manage departmental budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality assurance standards, programs, and procedures.
  • Critical Care Items: Prevent outages of critical patient care items.
  • Nursing Unit Support: Ensure that all nursing unit patient chargeable carts are properly filled, stock on carts is rotated, and carts are periodically cleaned.
  • Price Management: Review documentation with regard to price increases and price-sensitive items.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and continuously assess the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Employee Training: Ensure employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification and Licensing: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) IAHCSMM, CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) CBSPD, CST (Certified Surgical Technician) NBSTSA, and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships, direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations, establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan, effectively plan, delegate, and/or supervise the work of others, lead, motivate, develop, and train others, and commitment to the University's core values.
