Key Responsibilities- Supervise and direct the daily operations of the Central Sterile Processing Department, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and departmental policies.
- Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives, aligning with the strategic plan of the University of Miami.
- Lead and motivate a team of sterile processing personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality services.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve sterile processing services, including the operating room and other departments.
- Manage and maintain records to document ongoing educational and competency verification activities of sterile processing personnel.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory and accreditation standards, and professional guidelines.
- Exhibit professional interpersonal and communication skills, maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in central sterile processing or a related field.
- Certification in relevant specialty or field, such as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS).
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships, direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
- Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan, effectively plan, delegate, and/or supervise the work of others.
