Talent Acquisition Specialist

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a pivotal role in the comprehensive recruitment process for hourly positions. This includes sourcing, evaluating, interviewing candidates, and managing the post-offer procedures such as background checks, drug screenings, and onboarding, as well as focusing on employee retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete recruitment and training cycle for non-exempt (hourly) roles, which encompasses sourcing, screening, and onboarding candidates.
- Facilitate and coordinate pre-employment activities including drug screenings, background checks, and E-Verify, along with new hire orientation and benefits introduction.
- Ensure adherence to the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) and maintain the Personnel Activity Log (PAL).
- Advertise all available positions both internally and externally through various platforms.
- Input new hire data and manage the HRIS system.
- Implement and manage the employee referral program.
- Guarantee compliance with pre-employment I-9, E-Verify, E-Screen, and background check processes.
- Engage in regular walkthroughs of the production area to foster employee engagement.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Proficient in computer applications (MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with Workday is advantageous.
- Understanding of Affirmative Action Plans and Employment Law.
- Capability to administer HR policies, processes, and procedures effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a Unionized environment.
- Familiarity with AS400, Kronos, Ceridian, or Workday systems.
Education:
A high school diploma is required; an Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of recruiting experience, ideally within an HR or production setting.
Food Safety Responsibilities:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for supporting, communicating, and ensuring compliance with the Global Food Safety Policy Manual.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring all job descriptions comply with FSSC requirements.
- Defining training requirements for all positions related to food safety and quality within their area of responsibility.
The incumbent must comprehend the Food Safety Statement, complete the necessary training, perform job duties in accordance with training, and demonstrate a satisfactory level of competency with all Quality Assurance, Safety, and Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will encompass, but are not limited to, GMP, HACCP, Listeria, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000, Global Food Safety Policy, Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
