Position Overview:

The Intellectual Property Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting the Firm's litigation efforts. This position entails managing various aspects of casework, including the organization of pleadings, correspondence, and document management systems, as well as assisting in trial and hearing preparations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily case management and database operations; draft, review, and prepare legal documents; conduct thorough due diligence and research.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with current Firm technologies and filing procedures, while also providing training to new team members.
  • Monitor court dockets and systematically organize filed documents.
  • Evaluate documents for privilege and relevance; manage document numbering and labeling; maintain comprehensive sets of production and privilege documents, and create privilege logs.
  • Assist in the preparation of court submissions, service of documents, and expert reports, ensuring accuracy in citations and references.
  • Support attorneys in preparing for hearings and depositions, including the organization of witness materials and expert reports.
  • Coordinate trial preparations, including the organization of files, witness binders, and presentation materials. During trials, manage time tracking and assist attorneys with document handling.
  • Maintain organized materials and ensure databases and indices are current and accurate.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines, seeking guidance when necessary while contributing to team objectives.
  • Execute day-to-day discovery tasks, including document reviews and deposition preparations, responding promptly to requests from senior paralegals and attorneys.
  • Complete trial-related projects with precision and within deadlines, demonstrating a commitment to quality and teamwork under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an IP Paralegal, particularly with complex cases.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, electronic discovery tools, Relativity database, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and research capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and capable of working independently while also thriving in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with attorneys, staff, and external parties.
  • Strong clerical and typing skills, with proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Education:

  • BA/BS degree with a strong academic record is required.
  • Paralegal certification is preferred.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000-$95,000, with compensation decisions based on individual qualifications and experience.
