Core Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  • Design and implement quality assurance strategies that are in alignment with our overall engineering and business goals.
  • Set and monitor clear quality metrics for our software products to ensure ongoing enhancement.

Technical:

  • Create and carry out comprehensive test plans and procedures to detect software defects and their underlying causes.
  • Employ a combination of automated and manual testing methods to ensure thorough evaluation and quality assurance.

Collaborative:

  • Work closely with developers and product managers to gain a complete understanding of product specifications and requirements.
  • Provide timely, actionable feedback on identified issues during testing phases to enable swift resolution.

Daily Duties:

Routine:

  • Perform regular system assessments and testing cycles, document findings, and maintain comprehensive records of testing phases and product issues.
  • Continuously enhance testing methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Project Focus:

  • Lead initiatives aimed at quality improvement, such as the integration of new testing tools or methodologies into our QA processes.
  • Ensure collaboration across departments to maintain quality from design through to deployment.

Communication:

  • Regularly update engineering stakeholders on testing progress, highlight potential risks, and suggest improvements.
  • Clearly communicate testing outcomes and insights to all relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency and ongoing enhancement.

Skills and Qualifications:

Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle:
In-depth knowledge of the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Agile Methodologies:

Familiarity with Agile development practices, such as Scrum or Kanban, and the capability to work within iterative development cycles.


Technical Expertise:
Proficient in various testing frameworks and environments, including automated testing tools.

Strong Problem-Solving Abilities:
Exhibits a strong capacity to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues with innovative solutions while managing tight deadlines.

Proactive Approach:
Takes initiative to foresee challenges, recommend enhancements, and drive projects forward independently.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a quality assurance role within a software development context.
  • Quality Assurance Certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE are advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience in a SaaS, healthcare technology/IT, or healthcare B2B environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience in a startup environment is a plus.
