USI Holdings Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team. As a key member of our insurance brokerage and consulting firm, you will be responsible for managing employee benefits insurance accounts and services as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a book of business comprised of fully insured clients, with some self-insured clients.
- Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned clients, acting as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.
- Prepare materials needed for client meetings, educating, advising, and aiding clients on compliance topics, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s, and Health Care Reform.
- Set up new group insurance contracts for existing clients or new clients.
- Manage the renewal process, including the preparation of appropriate contractual changes.
- Implement and manage programs recommended by technical resources, such as wellness, communications, strategies, and pharmacy.
- May be responsible for marketing and placing new benefit products.
- Prepare client applications for review.
- Determine the most appropriate carriers.
- Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings.
- Make recommendations to clients.
- Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities.
- Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
- Conduct on-site meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans.
- Coordinate, manage, and attend client meetings, both virtually and in person.
- Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, benefit changes, and clarifications.
- Resolution support and oversight for client issues, such as contract clarifications and billing.
- 2-4 years of experience in the employee benefits industry or related marketplace, with a college degree preferred.
- Prior customer service experience is preferred.
- Must hold or be willing to earn a life and disability insurance license.
- Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
- Keep informed about industry information, technology, and trends.
- Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
