Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team at USI Insurance Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing employee benefits insurance accounts and services, providing proactive support to assigned clients, and acting as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a book of business comprised of fully insured clients, including some self-insured clients.
  • Provide personalized support to assigned clients, including educating and advising them on compliance topics such as ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s, and Health Care Reform.
  • Set up new group insurance contracts for existing clients or new clients.
  • Manage the renewal process, including preparing contractual changes.
  • Implement and manage programs recommended by technical resources, such as wellness, communications, strategies, and pharmacy.
  • May be responsible for marketing and placing new benefit products.
  • Prepare client applications for review.
  • Determine the most appropriate carriers.
  • Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings.
  • Make recommendations to clients.
  • Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts.
  • Conduct on-site meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans.
  • Coordinate, manage, and attend client meetings, both virtually and in person.
  • Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, benefit changes, and clarifications.
  • Resolution support and oversight for client issues, such as contract clarifications and billing.
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of experience in the employee benefits industry or related marketplace.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred.
  • Must hold or be willing to earn a life and disability insurance license.
  • Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
  • Keep informed about industry information, technology, and trends.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
