Position Summary:
In the Global Employee Relations team at Western Digital, we prioritize individual experiences through empathy, inclusion, and respect. Join a distinguished team of Employee Relations professionals dedicated to problem-solving, risk assessment, and providing compassionate support in interpersonal and employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough internal investigations regarding workplace behavior, utilizing effective planning and interviewing techniques to achieve appropriate outcomes.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and updating internal processes and programs for the Global Employee Relations team.
  • Design and deliver scalable solutions focused on conflict resolution, mediation, and change management.
  • Provide strategic Employee Relations support and coaching across all organizational levels.
  • Proactively evaluate team and managerial development needs, offering recommendations and implementing suitable solutions.
  • Support data analysis and reporting initiatives to identify trends in employee relations, driving proactive solutions.
  • Balance risk considerations from employee, business, and company perspectives.
  • Facilitate internal training for leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues across various teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Lead projects as a vital member of the HR community, influencing organizational practices.
  • Foster productive working relationships across the organization.
  • Promote understanding and compliance with company policies and relevant employment laws through coaching and training.

Qualifications:

  • Proven judgment and experience in assessing business-related risks.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations pertinent to HR compliance.
  • Strong consultative coaching and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to tailor communications to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing conflict and resolving employee-related issues.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in investigation planning and execution.
  • Effective critical thinking and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated empathy and commitment to fostering inclusion.
  • Experience in project and change management.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and build cross-team relationships.

  • 8+ years of experience in Employee Relations, HR Business Partner roles, or equivalent.

A BA/BS degree is preferred; a JD and/or MS degree is optional.
