About This Role:

We're seeking a seasoned Director of Employee Relations to join our dynamic People Team at Crusoe Energy Inc.

In this pivotal role, you'll drive the agenda of our People Team, forming strong partnerships with fellow People Team members, employees, and leaders at all levels to guide and implement effective people strategies.

Your responsibilities will include organizational development, change management, and fostering employee growth, mobility, and engagement.

You will effectively manage and resolve conflicts, compliance, and sensitive work-oriented issues, leveraging expertise of partners to the People team as necessary.

You'll serve as a trusted consultant, offering expertise to advise, mentor, and impact our managers on all HR-related matters, collaborating closely with the CPO and members of the People Team in Colorado and North Dakota.

You will be an active member in our recruiting processes, participating in interviews and partnering with our Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to enable best practice processes and an awesome candidate experience.

A Day In The Life:


Partner with the CPO, People Team Leaders, and Leadership to create pragmatic, strategy-aligned HR strategies and programs that support current and evolving talent needs of our west coast populations.

Drive initiatives to foster employee engagement, improve retention rates, and enhance overall job satisfaction.

Proactively strive to maintain a positive work environment that respects and supports inclusion, diversity, employee morale, and overall well-being.

Conduct organizational assessments, talent gap analyses, and structure recommendations to align business strategy with HR initiatives.

Lead talent Best Self Review processes, talent review roundtable discussions, and growth opportunity and promotion decision conversations with series of leaders in our west coast offices, resulting in clear, supported outcomes.

Leverage data, specifically in the form of employee engagement, culture, and management practice index surveys, to gain key insights into people and organization dynamics, issues, and opportunities.

Develop and implement programs that will drive positive change and impact by marrying contextual, observed, and reported data.

Actively collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on participating in key interview cycles and enhancing our interview processes.

Create and sustain a corporate culture that values continuous learning and promotes personal and professional growth. Partner with our Leadership and Talent Development Director to design and implement growth and impact-oriented programs.

As a member of the People Team, provide HR-related education and updates to all company levels.

In collaboration with People Team members and other key partners, formulate, educate, and enforce HR policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations; specifically, keep abreast of the legal landscape impacting our west coast employee populations.

Coach managers on HR practices, policy interpretation, employment law, conflict resolution, change management, and performance management.

Address and resolve employee relations issues effectively, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures, partnering with counsel as necessary.

Facilitate off-boarding for voluntary and involuntary terminations, when necessary.

Contribute to the design, testing, and implementation (project management, education) of people systems specifically as they touch our west coast employee populations.

You Will Thrive In This Role If:

You have 8-10 years of experience working as an Employee Relations Partner with an ability to foster positive relationships between employees and an organization, resulting in evidence of favorable outcomes.

You have specific experience working with software, infrastructure engineering, technical sales and support, design, and marketing populations.

You have experience working with employees in California, Washington, and other West Coast localities.

You have proven ability to leverage deep understanding of the business strategy, plan, and value creation levers to provide insight and leadership into organizational effectiveness, talent planning, and talent development.

You have proven ability to leverage data of many forms to drive actionable insights and demonstrable impact.

You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous and/or iterative fact-sets, decisioning.

You are highly organized, process-oriented, excellent follow-through, and reliable - nobody ever questions if you'll do what you say you're going to do.

You have the ability to take initiative and work autonomously – and can conceive, develop, and project manage key work from beginning to end.

You have the ability to work with ambiguity, think critically, make decisions, and solve non-routine problems based on your experience and through solid reasoning skills.

You demonstrate a high level of discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.

You have proven expertise in consultation, investigations, guidance, policy development, and coaching to managers to address sensitive and/or difficult employee behavior and performance concerns.

You have the proven ability to establish influential partnerships working with peers and leaders at all levels and across organizational lines to provide effective and strategic employee relations counsel.

You have an aptitude for staying informed of the latest HR trends to offer progressive and relevant solutions.

Compensation Range:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $200,000 - $230,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers.

Compensation to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
