Become a Civil Affairs Specialist (38B) in the U.S. Army and play a vital role in connecting the military with local communities worldwide.

As a Civil Affairs Specialist, you'll be responsible for identifying essential resources needed by citizens during missions or crisis situations. You'll foster strong relationships with civilian aid agencies, relief organizations, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective support and collaboration.

Your duties will encompass planning, coordinating, and executing civil affairs operations, including the production of crucial documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess local needs and resources during missions or emergencies.
  • Establish and maintain communication channels with civilian organizations.
  • Coordinate and participate in civil affairs planning and execution.
  • Produce essential documents related to civil affairs operations.
Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)
  • Age between 17 and 34 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Adherence to Army tattoo guidelines
  • Clean criminal record
  • Good physical health
Training & Development:
  • 10 weeks of rigorous Basic Training
  • 13 weeks of specialized Advanced Individual Training
  • Access to 9 nationally recognized certifications
  • ASVAB Score: Minimum 107 in General Technical (GT)
