POSITION OVERVIEW

With over 430 retail locations worldwide, our associates play a crucial role in our success. From ensuring product availability on the sales floor to creating attractive visual displays, addressing customer inquiries, and managing an efficient checkout process, our associates provide memorable customer experiences while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company's mission of "Connecting Active People with Their Passions."

As a Retail Associate, you will act as a brand ambassador, ensuring outstanding in-store experiences through positive customer interactions. You will utilize your problem-solving and sales skills to answer customer questions and make compelling product recommendations while upholding Columbia Sportswear Company's values to enhance customer service and teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing consumer inquiries regarding product features, benefits, and availability; engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences (e.g., demonstrate and explain merchandise, suggest suitable options).
  • Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stockroom, or other inventory locations.
  • Execute all required cash register transactions (e.g., sales, returns, exchanges, connecting customers to loyalty programs) efficiently and accurately.
  • Contribute to store profitability by receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing product flow accurately and efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • No specific educational requirements (High School Diploma or GED preferred).
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in operating a Point of Sale (POS) system and other in-store computerized systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Frequent activity in a dynamic environment (i.e., requires the ability to move about continuously), which may involve physical or strenuous tasks (frequently adjusting/moving items weighing up to 40 lbs.), potential exposure to dust and noise.
  • Occasional requirement to work in a stationary position.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others.
  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and in response to business trends.
