Key Responsibilities:

As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for the acquisition of materials, supplies, equipment, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Your duties will include:

  • Reviewing procurement requests and evaluating potential suppliers.
  • Conducting negotiations and managing purchase agreements.
  • Developing procurement strategies and forecasts.
  • Defining purchasing procedures for new clients.
  • Ensuring materials and services meet specified quality and quantity requirements at the lowest possible cost.
  • Resolving discrepancies related to quantity, quality, pricing, and transportation with vendors.
  • Maintaining continuity of supply to prevent production delays.
  • Developing reliable alternative sources of supply to enhance competition.
  • Maintaining organized records for the purchasing department to ensure efficiency and transparency.
  • Identifying new products that may enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of academic study at the college level, preferably in Marketing, Business, or Communication, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • C.P.M. certification is a plus.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Industrial Purchasing of raw materials or 3-5 years in Aviation/Military-related procurement, including aircraft tooling.
