Job Title: Behavioral Health Coordinator

At For Kids Only Afterschool Incorporated, we are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Coordinator to join our team. This role is a critical part of our mission to support the holistic needs of children.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Coordinator will work closely with our site directors and staff to assess the social, emotional, and behavioral health needs of children. This includes providing on-site support, responding to child incidents, and facilitating meetings with parents and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the social, emotional, and behavioral health needs of children and provide on-site support to program staff.
  • Respond to child incidents or crises by gathering information and recommending appropriate resources and supports.
  • Facilitate meetings with parents, families, social workers, and mental health counselors to ensure the needs of children are met.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to afterschool and summer support plans for high-need children.
  • Provide guidance to program leaders on DCF and FKO reporting policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Special Education, Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years' experience supporting school-age children with high needs.
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Education, Special Education, Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years' experience supporting school-age children with high needs.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Physical Requirements:

This role requires standing for long periods, as well as stooping, squatting, and running. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk are also required. The ability to lift up to 15 pounds is necessary.
