About the Role

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced nurse to join our Behavioral Health team as a Central Access and Disposition Nurse. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the efficient and effective management of inpatient behavioral health services across our system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on the behavioral and medical needs of behavioral health patients, identifying placement barriers and recommending the most appropriate treatment setting.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders systemwide to develop and implement strategies for improving behavioral health throughput, reducing barriers to admission, and enhancing patient care.
  • Work closely with the Central Access Team to track and analyze data on patient flow, acuity, and resource needs, providing insights to inform decision-making and drive process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clinical and administrative leaders across the system, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and regulatory requirements in behavioral health, applying this knowledge to inform clinical decision-making and policy development.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inpatient psychiatry unit and/or emergency department, with a strong background in behavioral health assessment and service coordination.
  • Proven track record of success in project management, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
