Position Overview:

Our client, a prominent and well-established financial services organization, is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager. This role is pivotal in overseeing all health and safety initiatives within the organization, focusing on the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by all personnel, providing essential training and facilitating regular meetings.
  • Oversee the safe installation and maintenance of equipment across all operational sites.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about safe operational practices and ensure adherence to any legislative changes.
  • Manage First Aid and Fire Marshall responsibilities in accordance with established policies.
  • Document and investigate incidents, accidents, complaints, and health-related issues.
  • Address any health and safety concerns raised by management or staff.
  • Continuously review and update health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Generate reports on health and safety statistics and trends, communicating relevant information to all employees.
  • Manage the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) log as part of the Senior Managers Regime/Certificate Regime.
  • Fulfill the requirements of the Relevant Regulators' fit and proper test as necessary.
  • Adhere to the Individual Conduct Rules as part of the Senior Managers Regime/Certificate Regime, participating in training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Oversee the management of contractors within any operational site.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) qualification.
  • NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety Certificate (or equivalent) qualification.
  • IOSH Managing Safety Certificate (or equivalent) qualification.
