Hotel Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hotel Controller to join our team at Mananto Enterprises LLC The Northampton Hotel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our hotel, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, managing budgets, and optimizing revenue strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee all financial aspects of the hotel, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, analyzing variances and trends.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with department heads.
    • Conduct financial forecasts and analyses to support strategic planning and operational goals.
  • Revenue Management:
    • Collaborate with the Revenue Manager to analyze market trends, pricing strategies, and yield management to maximize revenue.
    • Monitor and report on hotel performance metrics, identifying opportunities for revenue enhancement.
  • Accounting Oversight:
    • Ensure proper accounting procedures are followed, maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.
    • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely payment and collections.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure accurate financial reporting, and prevent fraud.
    • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to financial operations.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
    • Provide training and guidance on financial processes and systems.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with department heads to ensure alignment of financial performance with operational goals.
    • Present financial performance metrics to ownership and management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel financial operations, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and hotel management systems (e.g., Opera, HIA, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
