The Architectural Sales Consultant will play a crucial role in effectively promoting and selling Kawneer branded products by building and nurturing essential relationships to expand our customer base. This position involves collaborating with internal teams for proposal submissions and diligently following up to secure profitable sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain relationships with major architectural firms, developers, general contractors, and high-profile clients within the designated sales territory;
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through a relationship-driven approach;
  • Enhance and maintain additional business with existing clients;
  • Assess customer requirements, comprehend market dynamics, and ensure optimal service/product delivery and pricing;
  • Conduct site visits to foster relationships, deliver sales presentations, and address customer concerns;
  • Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets;
  • Engage in key industry organizations such as the American Institute of Architects, and participate in relevant training programs, conferences, and educational forums;
  • Collaborate closely with Front End teams and various organizational levels to ensure timely and accurate project proposals, execution, and customer satisfaction;
  • Utilize technology to enhance speed, quality, and efficiency in meeting customer needs;
  • Stay informed about Kawneer product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, and promotional trends through relevant literature and consultations with marketing and technical service teams.

Major Activities and Challenges:

  • Exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical skills to strengthen and influence relationships with both external customers and internal teams;
  • Demonstrate strong organizational abilities and knowledge of sales principles and practices;
  • Possess expertise in the commercial building and construction or architectural sectors;
  • Exhibit comprehensive computer skills and the capacity to learn proprietary and other software as necessary (CRM, Blue Beam, etc.);
  • Understand key financial drivers and relate them to overall territory and business objectives;
  • Effectively articulate the features and benefits of all product lines to key decision-makers;
  • Analyze new customer opportunities and identify additional prospects to meet sales goals;
  • Advise customers on product selection, application, and installation processes;
  • Interpret architectural/project construction documents and specifications;
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to identify and resolve field issues;
  • Willingness to travel extensively (75%-100% of the time, including overnight stays) and lift up to 50 lbs, with a readiness to relocate as necessary;
  • Possess a valid driver's license and insurance that meets company standards;
  • Exhibit a results-oriented mindset, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and sales objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree;
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in outside sales within the building/construction sector;
  • All employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States, with verification of employment eligibility required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior outside sales experience in the commercial building and construction industry;
  • Diverse experience in the construction field, including customer service, project management, estimating, engineering, and inside sales;
  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience;
  • Familiarity with Kawneer Products and Services.
