About the Role
The Director, Safety and Regulatory Compliance is a critical leadership position at ITS ConGlobal, responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive safety program that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and promotes a culture of safety across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Partnership
- Evaluate and ensure the organization meets safety, quality, and regulatory compliance objectives.
- Develop and manage safety objectives to align with the company's strategic goals.
- Partner with leaders to ensure understanding and compliance with all safety programs, procedures, and policies.
- Establish best practices and company standards in partnership with the operational leadership team.
- Identify and implement process improvements and standardization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve strategic objectives and organizational goals.
Health and Safety Practices and Compliance
- Develop and deliver training programs to guide employees on safe work practices.
- Coordinate incident investigations and root-cause analysis, and recommend improvement plans.
- Participate in field audits and provide input on improvement opportunities.
- Drive the implementation of programs that foster a strong safety culture.
Regulatory Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, including OSHA, FRA, and environmental compliance.
- Submit required reporting and conduct periodic calls with regulatory bodies.
- Track regulatory matters, issues, and changes, and offer recommendations for compliance.
- Identify requirements and train for compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Create, measure, and monitor benchmarks, metrics, and KPIs to meet company-wide goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in Intermodal, Rail, or Operations with in-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and other regulations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and training safety programs.
- Ability to travel 50% as required to multiple states and locations.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- CET (Certified Environmental, Safety, and Health Trainer) certificate preferred.
- CSP or Equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license.
