Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead our Geotechnical Team in the Sacramento branch and contribute to the growth of our Sacramento and other West Region offices. The successful candidate will partner with colleagues in the Region to support our profitable and growing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of geotechnical practitioners, providing technical leadership and senior-level oversight.
  • Lead and grow the practice, generating significant revenue at target profit levels.
  • Lead proposal efforts, maintain high visibility in the marketplace, and participate in client-based professional organizations.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring staff in the West Region offices.
  • Serve as a leadership role model for company culture and values across the organization.
  • Contribute to strategic planning at the office, regional, and national levels.
Requirements
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with 10+ years in a project management role.
  • Minimum of M.S. degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  • California Professional Engineering license (PE) required; Geotechnical license (GE) preferred.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of geotechnical and earthquake engineering principles.
  • Diverse technical background, including experience in dam and levee engineering and risk-informed decision making.
  • Seller-Doer with strong client relationships, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a track record of generating new work and growing a business segment.
