Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Professional to join our team as an Assistant Sous Chef at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading staff, assisting in food production, purchasing, and kitchen sanitation, while ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining the operating budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement culinary standards and procedures to ensure high-quality food production.
  • Lead and motivate a team of culinary professionals to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction and meet financial objectives.
  • Assist in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation to ensure a unique and memorable dining experience for our guests.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards to ensure a clean and healthy environment for our guests and staff.
  • Collaborate with the restaurant and banquet departments to coordinate service and timing of events and meals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 5 years of experience in the culinary industry or related field.
  • 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field; 3 years of experience in the culinary industry or related field.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
