Position Title: Linux Software Integrator

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO

Relocation Assistance: Not available at this time

Remote/Telework: Not applicable for this position

Clearance Type: DoD Secret

Shift: Day shift (Monday to Friday)

Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time

Key Responsibilities:

The Linux Software Integrator plays a crucial role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The selected candidate will:

  • Oversee the integration of specialized mission-specific software (MUS) on Linux and Windows-based virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center.
  • Identify and articulate requirements for new systems or modifications, aiding in design implementation and formal testing.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify configuration challenges.
  • Proactively address integration issues as they emerge.
  • Collaborate closely with a team of engineers, including system administrators, network engineers, system engineers, and cybersecurity engineers, to deliver high-quality, innovative integration services to the Government client.
  • Contribute significantly to the technical planning process, providing technical management and guidance.
  • Work alongside engineers to define requirements for new systems or modifications, develop designs, and implement and test solutions.
  • Perform ongoing system patching to mitigate cybersecurity risks.
  • Conduct testing to ensure installations meet functionality standards.
  • Engage in daily system monitoring, backups, restorations, and application upgrades to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Ensure that system software installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and cybersecurity measures comply with established policies and service level agreements.
  • Facilitate communication of errors between software developers and end users.
  • Identify and develop scripts or modifications to software to achieve desired functionality.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will:

  • Exhibit strong innovation in process enhancement and system design.
  • Quickly grasp complex concepts, decompose challenging software issues, and provide effective solutions.
  • Establish and adhere to standard processes while documenting results clearly.
  • Function effectively as a self-starter, identifying risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Be able to report to Schriever SFB within 2 hours to support mission surge events.
  • Support occasional evening and weekend activities for the MDA client.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude, thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while embracing change.
  • Provide sustainment and IT project support as needed.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required for mission success.

Basic Qualifications:

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) with 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree with 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree with 8 years of general experience; Master's degree with 6 years of general experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of directly related experience.
  • At least 3 years of management or leadership experience.
  • Recent experience with MDA or in the space sector.
  • A current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Sec+).
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with Cloudera products and services.
  • Proficiency in Linux command line operations.
  • Experience in writing tests to validate functionality and requirements.
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, C shell scripting, and Bash scripting.
  • Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator Certification.
  • Experience in writing and executing Ansible playbooks.
  • Experience in conducting log analysis.
  • Knowledge of VMware environments.
  • DoD networking experience with classified data networks and a strong understanding of red/black concepts and IA compliance.
  • TS/SCI clearance.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $123,000 - $148,000 annually, based on experience, education, and relevant certifications.
