Position Title: Linux Software Integrator

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Key Responsibilities:

The Linux Software Integrator plays a crucial role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The responsibilities include:

  • Integrating specialized mission-specific software on Linux and Windows-based virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center.
  • Identifying and defining requirements for new systems or modifications, assisting in design implementation and formal testing.
  • Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify configuration issues.
  • Proactively addressing integration challenges as they arise.
  • Collaborating with a team of engineers, including system administrators, network engineers, system engineers, and cybersecurity engineers, to deliver high-quality integration services to the Government customer.
  • Contributing significantly to the technical planning process and providing technical management and guidance.
  • Working closely with engineers to define requirements for new systems or modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions.
  • Performing ongoing system patching to mitigate cybersecurity risks.
  • Conducting testing to ensure installations and functionality meet established criteria.
  • Monitoring systems daily, managing backups and restorations, and performing application upgrades to ensure optimal operations.
  • Ensuring that system software installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and cybersecurity measures are conducted in line with established policies and service level agreements.
  • Facilitating communication of errors between software developers and end users.
  • Identifying and developing scripts or modifications to software to achieve desired functionality.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Function independently, identifying risks, issues, and opportunities.

  • Support occasional evening and weekend activities for the MDA customer.
  • Possess a proactive attitude, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and embrace change.
  • Provide support for sustainment and IT projects as needed.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required for mission success.

Basic Requirements:

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) with 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree with 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree with 8 years of general experience; Master's degree with 6 years of general experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of directly related experience.
  • At least 3 years of management or leadership experience.
  • Recent experience with MDA or in the space sector.
  • A current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Sec+).
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with Cloudera products and services.
  • Proficiency in Linux command line operations.
  • Experience writing tests to validate functionality and requirements.
  • Knowledge of C++, Python, C shell scripting, and Bash scripting.
  • Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator Certification.
  • Experience in writing and executing Ansible playbooks.
  • Experience conducting log analysis.
  • Familiarity with VMware environments.
  • Understanding of DoD networking with classified data networks and strong knowledge of red/black concepts and IA compliance.
  • Possession of TS/SCI clearance.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $123,000 - $148,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and relevant certifications.
