Key Responsibilities:
The Linux Software Integrator plays a crucial role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The selected candidate will:
- Oversee the integration of specialized mission-specific software (MUS) on Linux and Windows-based virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center.
- Identify and articulate requirements for new systems or modifications, aiding in design implementation and formal testing.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to diagnose configuration issues.
- Proactively address integration challenges as they arise.
- Collaborate closely with a team of engineers, including system administrators, network engineers, system engineers, and cybersecurity engineers, to deliver high-quality, innovative integration services to the Government client.
- Contribute significantly to the technical planning process and provide technical management and guidance.
- Work with a team to define requirements for new systems or modifications, develop designs, and implement and test solutions.
- Conduct ongoing system patching to mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Perform testing to ensure installations and functionality meet established standards.
- Manage daily system monitoring, backups, restorations, and application upgrades to maintain optimal system operations.
- Ensure that system software installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and cybersecurity measures are executed in accordance with established policies and service level agreements.
- Facilitate communication of errors between software developers and end users.
- Identify and develop scripts or modifications to software to achieve desired functionality.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will:
- Exhibit strong innovation in process improvement and system design.
- Quickly grasp complex concepts, decompose challenging software issues, and provide effective resolutions.
- Establish and adhere to standard processes while clearly documenting outcomes.
- Function effectively as a self-starter, identifying risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Be prepared to report to Schriever SFB within 2 hours to support mission surge events.
- Support occasional evening and weekend activities for the MDA client.
- Possess a positive attitude, thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and embrace change.
- Provide sustainment and IT project assistance as required.
- Be willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary for mission success.
Basic Requirements:
- Must possess one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) with 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree with 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree with 8 years of general experience; Master's degree with 6 years of general experience.
- Must have 7 years of directly related experience.
- Must have 3 years of management or leadership experience.
- Must have recent MDA or space experience.
- Must hold a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Sec+).
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment.
- Familiarity with Cloudera products and services.
- Proficiency in Linux command line operations.
- Experience in writing tests to verify functionality and requirements.
- Knowledge of C++, Python, C shell scripting, and Bash scripting.
- Possession of a Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator Certification.
- Experience in writing and executing Ansible playbooks.
- Experience in conducting log analysis.
- Familiarity with VMware environments.
- Knowledge of DoD networking with classified data networks and a strong understanding of red/black concepts and IA compliance.
- Possession of TS/SCI clearance.
