Position Title: Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administrator

Key Responsibilities:
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administrator will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The responsibilities include:
- Providing engineering and technical guidance for problem identification, analysis, requirements development, and implementation for complex systems.
- Advising on system enhancements, optimizations, and support initiatives.
- Conducting risk assessments and analyses using modeling and simulation techniques.
- Collaborating on solutions for complex challenges.
- Generating and applying innovative concepts leading to product or process improvements.
- Utilizing engineering tools to integrate requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Employing advanced simulation environments and laboratories for testing and development.
- Participating in specialized engineering team activities.
- Contributing to technical planning and providing guidance.
- Delivering technical support to clients, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Managing incident requests and change requests effectively.
- Maintaining accurate inventory and stock planning.
- Adapting to new technologies and tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or GED) with 2 years of general experience; or an Associate's degree with no experience.
- At least 2.5 years of relevant experience in business systems, operating systems, and servers.
- Possession of a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higher.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Ability to obtain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux updates and installations.
- Understanding of RHEL licensing and subscription provisioning.
- Experience with storage devices and remote system access.
- Proficiency in command line operations and bash scripting.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Possession of a valid passport or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
Desired Qualifications:
- Linux certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policies.
- Knowledge of Ansible and VMware environments.
- Recent experience with MDA or space-related projects.
