Job Overview

The Corporate Ledger Accountant plays a vital role in the financial health of AUTOMOTIVE PARTS HEADQUARTERS. This position is tasked with supporting the creation of monthly financial reports and relevant performance dashboards for both corporate divisions and warehouse functions. The accountant is responsible for the meticulous maintenance of general ledgers and ensuring the accurate reconciliation of key accounts on a monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of General Ledger Systems

  • Accurately compiles financial data from various sources into monthly journal entries for corporate and warehouse operations.
  • Reconciles cash logs and inputs data into general ledgers.
  • Ensures bank accounts are reconciled with bank statements, and accounts receivable and payable are aligned with subsidiary ledgers and supporting documentation on a monthly basis.
  • Balances journal entries, ensuring accuracy in charges and credits each month.
  • Reviews recurring journal entries for precision and implements necessary adjustments.
  • Maintains fixed asset schedules for both corporate and warehouse operations, including year-end preparations.

Preparation and Filing of Financial Statements

  • Generates financial statements, dashboards, and various month-end and quarterly reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Files annual reports such as Business Registrations, Unclaimed Property reports, and census surveys.

Payment Processing and Bank Balance Management

  • Handles the preparation and execution of ACH and EFT transfers through the banking platform.
  • Monitors daily bank balances for any overdrafts or opportunities to maximize interest.
  • Processes necessary federal and income tax payments.
  • Records electronic payment data and miscellaneous billing information in the accounting system for warehouse clients.
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, along with familiarity with specific accounting software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting as well as independently.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, and data analysis.
  • A minimum of a 2-year Accounting degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or a 4-year degree in accounting or a related field may substitute for experience.
