About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician to join our team at VNS Health. As a senior-level clinician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, client-centered behavioral health care to individuals and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize approved assessments to identify clients' needs and develop initial and ongoing clinical plans of care.
  • Perform effective care management for assigned caseloads, leading care coordination for complex psychiatric cases and tracking progress.
  • Provide supportive counseling and ongoing mental health services, collaborating with other agencies as needed.
  • Develop inventory of resources to meet clients' needs and provide linkage, coordination, and referral to service providers and managed care plans.
  • Assist clients and families in developing sustainable networks of community-based supports and provide advocacy and education on entitlements and community services.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing trainings to maintain and enhance clinical and professional skills.
  • Maintain updated case records in accordance with program policies, VNS Health standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Family Therapy, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of mental health work experience providing direct services to clients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and/or chronic medical conditions.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bilingual skills may be required as determined by operational needs.
  • License and current registration to practice as a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, or related license in New York State.
